Wise men say wise words that will be recounted endlessly. One can often live by one mans words, a single thing that one person said to illustrate his own thoughts or experiences. Just a few short words can affect one person profoundly. It may be a simple, beautiful or witty metaphor or something that helps you define your beliefs.
A key element of this blog has been the inclusion of someone else's words. Someone who I consider to have said something much better than I have or could. These are some of those words that I have used to help define me, though that definition is still incomplete. They are words that I thought were useful in explaining my choice of actions. All of them are quotes I collected up to a point to represent what I believed or simply just particularly liked.
In the order of my discovery of them:
1
"If you love something you have to let it go, if it comes back its yours, if it doesn't it never was"
2
"The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese"
3
"The heart has reasons that reason does not understand."
Jacques Benigne Bossuel
4
"Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute."
G.B. Stern
5
"If you want to be understood, listen"
6
"A man is already halfway in love with any woman who listens to him."
Brendan Francis
7
"Sometimes when nobody has your back you need to move your back"
8
"'Love' is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own... Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition. The immature mind often mistakes one for the other, or assumes that the greater the love, the greater the jealousy."
Robert Heinlein
You might actually consider one of these quotes worth claiming or already have your own. If you do, what's one quote that you constantly call on?
